Subdivisions of Galicia

The Subdivisions of Galicia were the administrative districts of the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, the largest and most populous part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire between 1772 to 1918. It consisted of 73 administrative districts in 1877 and 78 in 1900 and they were responsible for storing vital records. Galicia is today a historical region in Poland and Ukraine.

Today Galicia is spread upon three Polish voivodeships (Lesser Poland, Subcarpathia and some very small parts in Silesia) and three Ukrainian oblasts (Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil).〔(Galician Distant Cousins )〕
